There is a great little place on the main road in Cha-am that does the best "Gai Tawt" (fried chicken) in the area.
IF you are coming from Hua Hin it is on the left, just before the main traffic lights. It is very popular with the locals and there is a very brisk business from early evening until closing time. You will be eating at the side of the road and it is very basic - plastic chairs and tables. However, you can see "the kitchen" and everything looks very clean. THe fried chicken is fantastic. Really crispy and tasty and served with rice that is boiled in the chicken broth. They also refer to it as Khao Man Gai - meaning the rice in the oil of chicken. You can even get very tasty Moo Daeng (red pork) which is nicely done with some Bami (noodles)
