Beautiful sand, clear blue sea and sun all year round - what more could you ask for?

One of the most striking (and humourous) aspect of Cha-am beach is the way that the beach is divided by trees.  As you drive on the beach road you will see hoards of Thais sitting on their deckchairs under the shade of the trees.  There are a few gaps in the trees and this is where you will find all the foreigners sunbathing.

The Thais try to avoid the glare of the sun to keep their skin white and the foreigners are looking to get a dark suntan to show off when they go back home!

As you sit on the beach there are quite a few traders/sellers that will pass you by.  They do not hassle you and you dont really notice them unless you look for them.

Some of them offer fantastic seafood at really great prices.  However, it is a challenge to keep the sand out of your prawns!
